Vintage, Bruñido Wall Plate, Tonala, 8" Dog Design, Jimon?
Peos Priced Item; We have 3 old bruñido plates to offer today. This one depicts an dog (?). It measures 8" diameter. They have a hanger 'slot' as part of the plate on the verso, these were meant to hang, not eat on. The designs are classic but the modern version is less intricate and not as well drawn. The famous Jimon family of Tonala seem to be the originators of these designs.. these are not signed but considering their age, it could be that he had not yet started signing. Many of the folk art artists did not consider signing their works until after they had achieved success and the clients encouraged them to start signing. These are from the 1960's. Price is for each one. Size is 8" diameter. No chips, not cracks.
