Priced in Mexican Pesos. Tomasa Gonzalez, Ocumicho Figura de Barro, Metate. The metate is where the soaked corn is ground into the paste (masa) that is used to make the tortillas. The devil has a sack of corn on this back. As traditional as you can get from Ocumicho, Devils have been a popular theme there since the 70's.
Signed by Tomasa. 8" long, 8 1/2" tall and 3 1/2" wide. Good condition. Tomasa is one of the most popular artisans in Ocumicho.. Everyone who meets her loves her.. She is also very productive.. a real entreprenuer.
