If you own a home in Mexico or want to add some touches to your home where-ever you live, you need these books. I took the fireplace designs, window treatments, etc from these Shipway books when I built in 1999. The newest home we bought here in Ajijic has one of the identical patio floor design as shown in a Shipway book.

This tome shows the development and emergence in modern form of today's Mexican home (in 1964).
The emphasis is on current trends -- contemporary houses plus views of gardens, pools, doors, furniture and architectural details (all from the '60's).
Incorporated are the plans of 6 homes, two from San Miguel de Allende, a high town to the north; two from the incomparable climatic region of Cuernavaca; and two overlooking the breath-taking, beautiful harbour or Acapulco. The range covers alterations as well as recently constructed houses, both exteriors and interiors. Interlaced are views of other outstanding contemporary homes, together with a comprehensive potpourri of those incidentals which lend so much charm to the Mexican scene of today.
