Gouache or watercolor on paper. Unfortunately there are a few spots from a spill in the upper right hand corner. I have not opened the framed to see if by some chance they would come off!
Measures 14" by 17" under glass. Signed, lower left with the inclusion of his mother's intial, "Z", not often used, leading me to believe this is an early work!
From my personal collection; can't even remember where I got it. It has hung in my stairwell for at least 20 years..kind of smiling everyday when I passed it!
