Julian Pulido, La Espera, Chalk and Gouache, Ajijic, 12.5" x 17"
Priced in Mexican Pesos. Julian Pulido Pedrosa (1958-1987), "La Espera", Chalk and Gouache, Ajijic. Ajijic, 12.5" x 17". He was a founding member of the group "Jovenes Pintores de Ajijic"
This small work has a very similar style and coloration of a work from the collection of Georgette Richmond that is published in Tony Burtons fabulous index of local artists "Lakechapalaartists.com". I highly recommend that your visit his site. I acquired from Nanci de Las Plumas, another artist of the period who acquired it directly from Julian, he had titled it in the margins and she decided to reduce the margins to fit a frame, cutting off the signature and title "La Espera" which she just set inside the frame.. odd, but at least she didn't toss it! The subject is selling beans or seeds on a small table in front of her home.
