A beautiful repository for my best vintage Tlaquepaque figures ensuring that they survived decades of the risk associated with cleaning... but now that those pieces are being sold I can let go of this treasure!
Beautiful dark grained wood veneers and in very good condition. Glass door and shelves.
I am guessing Walnut but during that period of "old growth" forests it is possible that it is Mahogany or Rosewood. Which ever wood veneer was used it is has absolutely gorgeous veneers. Original finish!
We acquired this almost 20 years ago from an Estate Sale in Guadalajara.
- of those important 19th C. Mexican families whose wealth and status did not carry over into the 20th C.
Thus their treasures were offered to the public as the families adjusted to the economic realities of the times.
This measures 24" wide 39" tall.
