Estate of Shan McKittrick-Coulton
En 1994, Shan y John Coulton se trasladaron de Estados Unidos a México con el propósito de construir la casa de sus sueños para el retiro a orillas del Lago de Chapala. Shan encontró una propiedad con la estructura original de una casa ubicada sobre el malecón de Jocotepec.
Trajo consigo la colección que reunió durante toda su vida, integrada por antigüedades, obras de arte, tapetes, cristal fino, vajillas, cubiertos y varias cestas antiguas de pueblos originarios de California que hoy forman parte de esta venta de bienes.
Shan poseía un talento excepcional para el diseño arquitectónico y la decoración de interiores. Fue la creadora del concepto y la personalidad de Casa Philae, incorporando cuidadosamente muebles antiguos, obras de arte, tapices, alfombras persas y piezas de inspiración grecorromana, egipcia y mexicana, creando un conjunto verdaderamente único.
