Vintage Mexican Parota Door, 43" wide and 80 1/2" tall, 2" thick
Peso Priced Item; This old Mexican door was custom made (all by hand) around 1970.. The wood is parota, a moisture and termite resistant wood ideal for doors. The outside of the door shows the effect of sun and moisture on the parota wood for the 50 years it hung as the main door of it's home. That can be cleaned and restored. So the color once again is dark. We removed the door frame too and a good carpenter can reinstall this in your threshold. This is 80 1/2" tall and 43" wide, this is 2" thick. This kind of assembled door, look at all those individual panels, is something common in Mexico in the old days, but not done much nowadays due the increased cost of labor. Solid as a rock!!
