Vintage 1960's Mexican Rug, Stylized Bird Design
This item is priced in Mexican Pesos. This rug was most likely woven in Michoacan. The period is the mid to late 1960's when foreigners, mostly US citizens, were beginning to discover Mexico as a fun place to retire in and decorate their homes in "Mexican' style. This little piece is 100% wool and measures 45" long and 28" wide. Good condition no color run. r to find in this condition. I am dating it at around 1900-20 from the very fine weave and the flowers in the design.. The fringe has been removed by some well intentioned person so that is that! It measures 37" wide and 7' long. There are a few little (very little) blemishes in the weave, very minor, but of course you will want to examine this personally before committing to the purchase. You would still have 7 days to ask for a refund if you decide it's not for you!
