Priscilla Frazer - Abstract 200 - 12" x 15" on Masonite

Priced in Mexican Pesos.  Priscilla Jane Frazer, Laguna Beach Artist, 1907-1973  An nice abstract work in acrylic by this accomplished Laguna Beach artist who had a love for Lake Chapala.

Size 12" by 15", painted on masonite.  Titled Abstract 200 on the verso,  a price in USD.

She first came to the Chapala area in the 50's and later bought a house in Chapala Haciendas. This work was most likely executed in Chapala/Ajijic. It was certainly exhibited in this area because there is a '52' in a circle, another of her paintings that we are offering has the #51 in a circle.

I am proposing that these are catalog numbers for a show, since both have prices on the verso. .. if she didn't paint these while in Mexico, how did they get here?   Hard to believe in the 1960's that a move from California to Chapala would have included artworks.. curious. The trains from the California border town of Calexico were working then .. we'll probably never know.
