Nakashima Style Sofa Table, Doubles as Bar Table, 102" long
Priced in Mexican Peso.
Nakashima Style Sofa Table, Doubles as Bar Table, 102" long, 34" tall (bar height) and varying from 20" deep. Custom made.
This is made of THICK Parota (the tall trees that line the entrance to Ajijic in La Floresta).
Parota is a costal wood, used for canoas due to its durability, high oil content and resistance to moisture.
This was designed as a sofa table but the owners found it to be a very fuctional bar table for dining and drinking with bar stools.
One edge is flat and the other follows the natural curves of the tree .. Nakashima Style.
The white band of wood on the edge is the outer layer in the tree, called 'samago', in carpenter terms it is called a "live edge".
The actual name of the tree is Guanacaste, the interior dark wood is the parota.
