Antique Tribal Bagface, Southwest Iran, Khamseh Federation
Peso Priced Item:
A beautiful early 20th C. weaving in all wool (warp and weft). This is representative of the tribal weavings of the Fars region of the southwestern part of Iran, I think it was woven by one of several tribes in the Khamseh Confederacy.
This measures 20" by 24". Condition is 'as shown', this will only serve you as a wall hanging or a table cover. Beautiful natural dyes, hand spun wools. The design seems to be a take off of the Hapsburg Double Eagle, a popular theme worldwide. I attached an image of the famous eagle.
