Antique Caucasian Karachopt Kazak, Ca. 1890 , 4' x 7' 4"

Priced in US Dollars.   What a fantastic antique weaving from the Southwest Caucasus region.  Typical of the old Kazaks the wefts vary from 3 to 5 and even more.  The  characteristic colors and long pile are all shown in this rare example of Kazak weavings. Very good condition, rug displays vibrant, full pile throughout and has intact ends and sides; length and evenness of pile suggest professional restoration / repiling, but work is subtle and rug bears no glaring evidence of repair or restoration.    My consignor bought it at a Philadelphia auction house about 10 years ago.   Measures 4' x 7' 4"    Any and all our rugs are sold with a 7 day trial, you need to know how this will look in your lighting, day and night .. if after a week you haven't fallen totally in love, call us and we'll pick it up and return your money.
