Ajijic Legend "El Charracate", Ajijic's Milkman, "Chari" by Ramos
Priced in Mexican Pesos. Ajijic Legendary "El Charracate", Ajijic's Milkman, "Chari" by Javier Ramos, dated '04.
This painting is of the Ajijic legend El Charracate (Don Venancio Perez), he was the towns milkman. His home is where I live today. The back yard held his milk cows and the entry into the house was a ramp up from the street that we changed into a step. He also had a famous Avocado tree, that this lives behind the house, famous for it's special avocados. The gringos called him Chari (sometimes thought to be pronounced Charlie).. all a misprounciation of his nickname "Charracate".
The paintings measures 31" wide and 43" tall. Oil in canvas.
I have an earlier portrait of Don Venancio and his old straw hat ..otherwise this would have to be in my collection.. or stay with the house.
