5" Mexican Creche Figures by Nohemi Panduro, Signed Pair
Peso Priced Item: Typical Tlaquepaque creche figure, figures like these are part of the multitude of creche figures traditionally made in Tlaquepaque for at least the last 100 years and sold to contribute to the elaborate Nativity scenes Mexico is known for. Nohemi Panduro, is the great-granddaughter of Pantaleon Panduro, the famous turn of the Century potterer in Tlaquepaque. These two figures represent the "Aristocracy" in the Nativity Scene (Creche) and are copies of Pantaleons' original designs. Each measures 5" tall. Sold As-Is , his foot and one arm broke off and are reglued. The artists' name is pressed into the bottom of the wet clay. Price is for the pair.
