38" tall, Vintage Storage Vessel, w/Base
Peso Priced Item. 38" tall, Vintage Storage Vessel, w/Base. The largest of two of these that I am offering from my personal collection. These could have been used to store grains or catch rain water. A wooden lid would have been made, custom for each one. The handles facilitated mounting them on a burro. This measures 24" diameter. This has some noticeable holes in the side and some rim cracks, a testament to its strenght that holes would pierce it's shell and not destabilize the jar!
If you wax these with Johnsons Paste Wax, they can achieve a beautiful patina that glows. Then you would want to use them inside your home, not exterior. 50 to 75 years old.
