Stone Water Spout, Colonial Mexico, 1700's

Priced in Mexican Pesos..   From the 18th C. or earlier this rain spout would have kept rain water from running down the stone or brick walls and thus, over time, eroding the walls .. The stone used here, yes it is stone, is a very dense stone .. super heavy!  It is not the lighter weight and easier to chisel away  cantera .. this is stone. This measures 8" tall and 7" wide and 31" long.
