Divino Rostro, large wooden carving with metalic aura
from the mid-19th C. Mexican folk art, extremely sad face. The head itself
measures 9" tall without the aura or large base included. This was once
the head to a large full figure statue that probably was consumed by
termites. Price reduced to $1,400 US
Oaxacan stone cross, polichromed. Very
rare, from the mid to late 18th C. out of personal chapels in the haciendas at
that time. Measures approx. 20", in 2 pieces. Condition very good for its
age, some areas have certainly been painted over through out the centuries.
Face retains partial original estofada patina and colors. Price $4,500 US
