Figure of the Virgin Mary, made of gesso covered cloth and paper over a wooden frame (estofado), body not solid wood, head and hands appear to be solid wood in the style of Agustin Parra of Tlaquepaque.

Divino Rostro, large wooden carving with metalic aura from the mid-19th C.  Mexican folk art, extremely sad face.  The head itself measures 9" tall without the aura or large base included.  This was once the head to a large full figure statue that probably was consumed by termites.  Price reduced to $1,400 US

 

Oaxacan stone cross, polichromed.  Very rare, from the mid to late 18th C. out of personal chapels in the haciendas at that time.  Measures approx. 20", in 2 pieces.  Condition very good for its age, some areas have certainly been painted over through out the centuries.  Face retains partial original estofada patina and colors.  Price $4,500 US

St. Peter (San Pedro), lovely head remaining from a full figure saint and made around 1800-1840 in Mexico.  Glass eyes, excellent facial expressions. Height is 12 1/2",   price $750 US
